Tropeiro
Manchester |
|
Located
in the building vacated by Gastro's Food Hall, on the corner of
Sackville Street and the aptly named Brazil Street, just around
the corner from the Palace Theatre, is Tropeiro, which brings
the true atmosphere of the South of Brazil and the Brazilian Gaucho
cuisine to Manchester. |
Tropeiro
is a traditional Brazilian churrascaria, serving up over 15 cuts
of beef, lamb, chicken and pork. All of which have been slowly
roasted to perfecton over the open charcoal grill. |
Not
only is the food different at Tropeiro, so is the way it is served,
with a service method called 'rodizio', meaning that the skewers
of roasted meat are bought to your table on the skewers, and then
carved onto your plate by the trained garcons. |
The
originality of the rodizo service means that instead of ordering
from a traditional menu, you can sample the entire menu for one
fixed price. |
|
|
Alongside
the multitude of meat on offer there is also a hot and cold buffet.
Offering a range of freshly prepared salads as well as traditional
hot and cold dishes. |
Complementing
the restaurant, Tropeiro also boasts a fully stocked cocktail bar,
with the most classic Brazilian cocktail being the Caipirinha, a simple
yet delightly refreshing combination of fresh limes, sugar ice, and
a healthy measure of Cachaca (a type of rum made exclusivly in Brazil). |
The
main ingredient in a Caipirinha is Brazil's national spirit, Cachaca.
The history of Cachaca dates back over 400 years where it was used
by plantation owners to give their slaves more drive when working
the fields. |
With
the classic cocktail in mind Tropeiro's bar team has created a list
of drinks with Cachaca as the main ingredient. However if this one
isn't for you, the team are fully trained on all of your favourite
classics. Cachaca has come a long way since that point but is still
a strong part of Brazilian culture. |
Tropeiro
take special care in ensuring everything is as authentic and of the
highest quality possible, whilst still sticking to their roots set
in the South of Brazil. |
