Cafe Fish Catch Livebait
Famous Scottish caterer Richard Muir, owner of the prestigious Café Fish Restaurant in Edinburgh, has bought Livebait opposite Manchester Town Hall from administrators selling off former Paramount Restaurants, whose ex-Chairman, William Rollason, has joined Muir to form SBG Restaurants. The kitchen will be headed up by Executive Chef, Dave Spanner, who was previously Executive Chef for Yachts of Seabourn cruises and has worked at top restaurants in Australia, Paris, San Francisco and Edinburgh. ~ 28 Nov
 
 
 
Commerical Pub To Become Restaurant?
Planning permission has been submitted to convert The Commerical Hotel pub and it's adjacent building on Liverpool Road in Castlefield to a 39 bed bouteque hotel and 100 seater restaurant. Manchester architects, Formroom and Liverpool developers, Iliad Group, have been working on plans over three years for the Grade II listed site, which sits opposite the historic Liverpool Road Railway Station, now part of the Museum of Science & Industry. Plans for The Liverpool Road Hotel include a five storey extension to the back of the building (right). ~ 21 Nov

Hot Off The Press at The Printworks
It's all change at The Printworks, who celebrate their tenth anniversary this year. Popular British chain Harvester have replaced American theme restaurant Old Orleans, excellent Bury chippy Moby's Fish Bar have moved into the unit vacated by Hunter's and Yum Yum Buffet has become Just Chinese Oriental Tapas, which serves sixty dishes in tapas style portions. ~ 21 Nov

Pride Of Manchester member Sarah Foran was the lucky winner of the Genting Casino Old Trafford VIP Box tickets for United v Oletu Galati courtesy of 110 Restaurant. Lifelong United fan Sarah, who has followed the reds home and away for years, including every European away leg and the final of the Treble Winning '99 season, treated her brother Declan, who was celebrating his 50th Birthday. "This is the best present I could of wished for", he said, "I've always wanted to see how the other half live at Old Trafford. What an amazing experience!". ~ 2 Nov

Mr Pilling's Roast Restaurant and Oyster Bar, Steve Pilling and Simon Stanley's heavily hyped restaurant, which has been tipped to "bring Manchester its first Michelin star", in the redeveloped County Court House on Deansgate, is now under development and is set to open in 2013. ~ 29th Nov
