Tucked inside the DoubleTree by Hilton, Store Street Exchange has long been a quiet powerhouse in Manchester’s dining scene, offering exceptional value and consistently high-quality fare. Their signature rotisserie and unwavering commitment to local produce have earned them a loyal following, and rightly so.

Executive Chef Ivo Pinto, a familiar name in the city’s culinary circles, brings both pedigree and precision to the kitchen. With a résumé that spans some of Manchester’s most respected venues, his latest seasonal menu had us eager to dive in.

Store Street Manchester - Fajita Chicken Arancini Store Street Manchester - Sun-Dried Tomato and Olive Focaccia
We kicked things off with a couple of snacks that set the tone beautifully. The Fajita Chicken Arancini (£7) were a clever fusion.  Bite-sized Sicilian comfort meets Mexican spice. A bold, satisfying opener.

Equally impressive was the Chef’s Sun-Dried Tomato and Olive Focaccia (£6). Generously portioned, deeply flavoured, and perfectly baked, it came with a classic aged balsamic glaze. Simple, but executed with finesse.

Store Street Manchester - Chicken Spring Rolls Store Street Manchester - Grilled King Prawns and Chorizo
Our first starter, the Chicken Spring Rolls (£8.50), showcased the rotisserie’s magic, packed with tender shredded chicken and paired with poached plum, wasabi, and basil. A dish of contrasts: sweet, sharp, smoky, and herbaceous. Crowd-pleasing.

But the standout was the Grilled King Prawns and Chorizo (£11). Juicy prawns, robust chorizo, and a fragrant sauce begging to be mopped up with the accompanying garlic and parsley flatbread. We’d happily order it twice.

A word on the drinks; Store Street Exchange doesn’t just tick the box, they elevate it. The wine list is compact but curated, with options for every palate and budget. Beer lovers are well catered for too, with local heroes like Brightside Brewing Co and the iconic JW Lees making an appearance.

Whatever your drink of choice, you’re in good hands. Now, onto the mains.

Store Street Manchester - 8oz Striploin of Beef Store Street Manchester - Spinach, Feta & Aubergine Filo Cannelloni
The 8oz Striploin of Beef (£32.50) was a visual stunner and a culinary triumph. Cooked to a perfect pink, it came with a handmade hash brown, charred hispi cabbage, and a knob of chimichurri butter. A jug of glossy jus sealed the deal. Unpretentious, but deeply satisfying.

For our vegetarian option, the Spinach, Feta & Aubergine Filo Cannelloni (£21) delivered Mediterranean comfort in crisp pastry. Beneath it, a rich Romesco sauce and sautéed tenderstem broccoli added depth and balance. A standout veggie dish.

Store Street Manchester - Fillet of Sea Bream Store Street Manchester - Selection of Sides
The Fillet of Sea Bream (£24) was our final main, delicately cooked and served atop a vibrant mix of pancetta, peas, fondant potatoes, and basil velouté. It was complete in itself, but we couldn’t resist the sides.

And we were right not to. The sautéed mixed mushrooms with confit garlic butter (£7.50) were rich and earthy. The new potatoes and greens (£7) brought freshness and crunch. The spiced corn ribs with roasted peppers and onion (£7) were versatile enough to work as a starter or side. All three were generous and well executed.

Store Street Manchester - Store Street’s take on Eton Mess Store Street Manchester - Key Lime Cheesecake
Desserts began with a bang. Store Street’s take on Eton Mess was a celebration of whipped chocolate, cream, coffee, salted caramel, digestive crumb, and meringue shards. Big flavours, big satisfaction.

The Key Lime Cheesecake with Raspberry Sorbet (£8.50) was a lighter counterpoint. A zesty mousse atop sponge (not biscuit, but it worked), garnished with piped citrus meringue and a scoop of sorbet. Bright, fresh, and well balanced.

Store Street Manchester - Rotisserie Pineapple Carpaccio Store Street Manchester - Restaurant Entrance
We closed with the house signature: Rotisserie Pineapple Carpaccio (£8.50). Served with diced mango, strawberry, exotic fruit purée, and a scoop of Jude’s vanilla ice cream, it was the perfect finale; fresh, indulgent, and a clever nod to their rotisserie roots.

We left Store Street Exchange once again impressed. It remains one of Manchester’s most reliable spots for a well-executed, high-quality meal. If you haven’t been, you’re missing out.
